I'm on a Surface Book and using the latest OneNote metro app. I also have the OneNote 2016 app but I find the metro app cleaner. I was just taking notes in a lecture for the first time so I made a new section and had written in two pages of the only section within this notebook.

Officially you should only be able to open OneNote section (.ONE) files in the Office version of OneNote 2010/2013/2016.
